In Genesis 1 we have an account of creation. Everyday of creation was marked by something different. In fact something significant was what enabled a day to be MARKED :
And evening passed and morning came, MARKING the first day. Genesis 1:5
On each of the 6 days of creation we notice what these markers are and what they mean for us in creating landmarks in our own lives in 2013.
DAY 1.
Then he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day” and the darkness “night.” Genesis 1:4,5
God created light and there was a division of light and dark. The separation of light from dark in our lives is a significant landmark every time.
You do this by naming it for what it is. Anything that is taking you away from God, hindering your progress in Christ, distracting you from the purpose of God in your world is darkness to you. Its not always ‘evil’ that is dark in our lives. Sometimes things that seem good but actually do not encourage growth in Christ can be dark to us at that moment. A certain relationship, a certain social environment, certain hobbies or literature.
When we realise this, call it what it is, make an adjustment and let the grace of God’s light in we create a landmark, a life change, and we call this FREEDOM.
DAY 1 : FREEDOM.
Live free in 2013.
