And evening passed and morning came, MARKING the fifth day. Genesis 1:23
On the penultimate day of creation, day 5 in Genesis 1, we notice another life changing ‘MARKER’ that we could set in our own lives in 2013.
Then God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply. Let the fish fill the seas, and let the birds multiply on the earth.” Genesis 1:22
DAY 5. On day 3 we looked at being fruitful. On day 5 we take this one step further. Its a landmark moment when what you do is fruitful. For some people when they touch money it grows; for others when they teach, others ‘just get it’; for others when they administrate life quickly has order to it. This is fruitfulness. However, what about multiplying this fruitfulness.
To multiply your fruitfulness you have to put something in place that bears your fruit without you having to be too involved. Money that begins to work for itself, administrative processes that run automatically, students not just taught but empowered.
One of the greatest areas of multiplication is DISCIPLESHIP. In Genesis 1:23 it says the creatures reproduced of their kind. To disciple another is a great landmark in a believer’s life. The process of discipling will inevitably mean you produce disciples that look like you to some degree. This is called reproducing.
Therefore, if we want others to look like Christ, we must look like Christ and get to work on discipling another this year. If you have known Christ for only a day you still have something to offer another who doesn’t know Christ at all. If you are a mature believer, carrying responsibility in Church you can disciple others into Christ and into leadership.
DAY 5 : MULTIPLY.
Find one person in 2013 and disciple them. See you in Church tonight.
