Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3 John 1:2
There is no doubt that God is wanting you to do well in life, including in our work. Continuing on from yesterday’s blog here are the final 2 things I want us to consider from the life of Paul that will help us maximise our work experience and financial capability.
4. Help others to succeed
You know that these hands of mine have worked to supply my own needs and even the needs of those who were with me. Acts 20:34
Paul paid for a team to travel with him. This was a team of 7 men (possibly families) for a few months! He enabled their futures to unfold. He opened doors of experience and opportunity.
In building your career build others too : Your boss, your colleagues and your staff.
** Your success is related to the success you help create in others. **
5. Be a vision builder
Whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father. Colossians 3:17
We are representatives of Christ. We are ultimately not here for ourselves but to see His plans succeed.
Be a contributor – contribute to a better society, a better work environment, to build the local Church and a better community.
Living for a cause bigger than yourself and your family is good for healthy life. God’s cause is the greatest life of all – your talent, time & money can fulfill His plan.
People get despondent because their meaning for work is too shallow. They work to pay the bills, to have a pension, and for their holidays.
A higher level of purpose would be: “I’ll make my company a success and ensure my kids have a healthy inheritance.
However, Paul shows the highest call of all: build the Church, show off God’s talent through you. Be a vision builder, but not just of your vision but of something bigger than you.
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3 John 1:2
I pray this for you today.
