What comes first?

Today I am not posing a conundrum.  What comes first? The chicken or the egg?  Nothing quite as deep as that.  But I am simply posing the question is it important what we do in what order? Well the answer is absolutely, yes.  What you do first determines what time there is left to do other things.  Therefore, if we want to ensure the most significant things get done, they must be done first. The same is true of our giving.  If we give with whats leftover, very often we won't be giving at all or will at least not be able to freely determine how much we give.  Lets take a look at a moment in Abraham's giving: The lord told him, “Bring me a three-year-old heifer, a three-year-old female goat, a three-year-old ram, a turtledove, and a young pigeon.” 10 So Abram presented all these to

A Minute in Colossians – Day 7

This is the last day of our 7 daily 1 minute bible studies, which have taken us I through these 2 verses: "I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself. 3 In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." Colossians 2:2,3 Today we look at the words "Christ Himself"... Filmed in multiple locations from my living room to the city, we will look at a different topic each day such as desire, encouragement, confidence and more. Stay tuned and be encouraged this week.

The Power of Following

Jesus told us not simply to go and make converts but to go and make disciples.  A disciple is a follower.  Paul here reiterates the same concept directly to the Christians in Colosse. There is a huge revolution that takes place in your heart when you first receive Christ, the old life is gone, the new has come, salvation becomes ours.  However, for a revolution to continue we must continue to follow. Two things are needed in order for us to be following:  we need a leader (otherwise who or what are we following) and we need to take steps (otherwise we fall behind and can no longer see the leader). WE NEED A LEADER Paul said "Imitate me as I imitate Christ".  That means that whilst disciplers are extremely important in our lives, their role is still to help us imitate Christ,
