Baptism from The Journey Begins

Exert from my book - 'The Journey Begins' - a chapter on baptism.  It has been a joy seeing so many new Christians helped by it.  If you have a story of how it has helped you please let me know. If you want to take a look at the English or the Dutch version click here.  Or if you would like more info contact me here. Then Jesus and his disciples left Jerusalem and went into the Judean countryside. Jesus spent some time with them there, baptizing people. John 3:22 I was watching a father walking into the hairdressers a few days ago with a strident walk. A young boy followed, he had exactly the same walk, in miniature form. It didn’t take a moment of genius to deduce that he was the son! There’s something about family traits. The glance of an eye, turn of phrase, a walk or some ot

A Minute in Colossians – Day 7

This is the last day of our 7 daily 1 minute bible studies, which have taken us I through these 2 verses: "I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself. 3 In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." Colossians 2:2,3 Today we look at the words "Christ Himself"... Filmed in multiple locations from my living room to the city, we will look at a different topic each day such as desire, encouragement, confidence and more. Stay tuned and be encouraged this week.

Go Fast!

Let's talk about fasting for a moment. Fasting is designed to refocus our life on God. It will empty you of you and fill you with Him. There is a power in fasting even aside from prayer. However, combined with an increased level of prayer, which is really its purpose, fasting will speed your growth, wisdom and fruitfulness in God. Obstacles come down as we realign ourselves to Him. Fasting is an incredibly healthy spiritual discipline, bringing great benefit with it. Instances of the use of fasting in scripture: - for humility I humbled myself with fasting Psalm 35:13 - making important decisions As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, "Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." Acts 13:2 - releasing ministers So a...

ONE

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! 2 It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments. 3 It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the LORD commanded the blessing--Life forevermore. Psalm 133:1-3 'Behold' - David is making a statement that there is something here that will make you stop & take notice. Unity is powerful in its attraction. It is 'good'. Unity is not a loss of ones own mind, a surrender of ones own thinking capability. Unity is a choice we make for good, not simply a feeling. It requires strength and a thinking person to make it. It is good and 'pleasant'. 'Pleasant' because there is something in us all that t...
