Why wait?

But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

‘Waiting on the Lord’ is the process of giving time to the Lord. Its drawing near with a heart desiring to receive from Him. Waiting on the Lord keeps us realising He is our answer, not other things.

Waiting, as the word suggests, involves time and patience. It has in it a sense of expectation. Waiting for what? Clearly waiting for something has a desire in it.

isaiah tells us by waiting on the Lord we receive strength, energy, youthfulness and endurance.

In what way are we strengthened through waiting? Its not just the waiting that strengthens us, although a huge inner resolve and patience is shaped in us as we do so. What strengthens us is what we receive through the waiting. These things will reenergise your world :

inspiration or revelation : as you wait on the Lord you will see things you hadn’t seen before. God will reveal Himself to you, reveal His Word to you, reveal your true self to you.

cleansing : you will be cleansed, the dirt of the day washes off, the restraints of life will drop off and freedom and joy fixes in your soul.

anointing : there is always fresh oil to receive as you wait on Him. We need fresh oil everyday. His anointing empowers, strengthens and causes us to supernatural not just natural in our capabilities.

clarity and direction : you will receive clarity of what to do and where to go. You will see answers to problems troubling you. Solutions and direction are reenergisers of our lives.

Wait on the Lord and become strong! See you in Church!
