Money that Works

Why do you spend money for what is not bread,
And your wages for what does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good,
And let your soul delight itself in abundance. Isaiah 55:2

The simple rule of thumb when it comes to financial management is only spend what you have.
Not what you will have, or would like to have, not what you think you deserve.
Otherwise you will have a lifestyle that is unmatched by your current affordability.

“If your outgo exceeds your income, then your upkeep will be your downfall.” Bill Earle

Staying liquid is and always will be fundamental to us staying on top of our financial world and having personal confidence in this area.

3 things to consider when looking to make your finances work well:

1. Budget – it doesn’t matter how much money you have, still the best way to ensure you spend within your means and according to your priorities and values is to budget. A simple list of expected income and expenses is enough. But make sure you check yourself against your budget too!

2. Never stop giving – in the good times and the bad there is one thing that will ALWAYS be important to your future financial health and that is your tithe. The moment you stop giving is the moment your finances will be at the mercy of your own capability and subject purely to the natural order of things. Bring in the full tithe and you will release the capability of God into your financial world.

3. Wherever possible invest – investment for the future should come reasonably high in our list of expenses when we get to the point of affordability. Save to buy a house before taking a luxury holiday for example.

If you think ‘invest’ you will have the right mind to make your finances work. i invest my life in productive work, I invest my money in the House of God and I invest myself into my future.

See you in Church – the best investment for your life.
